The production — led by producer Brian Anthony Moreland and starring Taraji P. Henson — has become one of the most culturally significant theatrical events of the 2025–2026 Broadway season, drawing a producing team that includes Tyler Perry, Kandi Burruss, Tameka “Tiny” Harris, Mona Scott-Young, Je’Caryous Johnson, The Shubert Organization, and the Apollo Theatre. Walker and StillWater Partners are honored to stand alongside this extraordinary group in bringing Wilson’s masterwork to a new generation of audiences.
Why This Production
At StillWater Partners on Broadway, we evaluate every investment through two lenses: artistic excellence and cultural significance. Joe Turner’s Come and Gone meets both standards with rare power.
Set in a Pittsburgh boarding house in 1911, August Wilson’s work follows men and women searching for lost family, reclaimed identity, and spiritual wholeness in the decades after emancipation. It is not simply a play — it is a document of Black American resilience, and a reminder that the stories we put on our most celebrated stages shape how the world understands who we are and where we come from.
Backing this production is not just a sound investment. It is a responsibility we take seriously.
A Portfolio Rooted in Excellence
This investment adds to an expanding StillWater Partners portfolio that reflects our commitment to backing transformative, world-class theatrical work. Our current and past productions include:

Dead Outlaw — Broadway (Tony Award nominee)
Buena Vista Social Club — Broadway
Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club — Broadway
